Alice Kammerlander

Alice’s unique style of typography bounces off the page along side her illustrations, drawing the audience in. Her work has a home-made feel to it which I could emulate within the pages of my recipe book; the idea of a home-made style of illustration makes sense when paired with context such as cooking. The unsymmetrical, almost crooked layout of her illustrations emit a comforting atmosphere, a kind of ease which would suit something like a recipe book very well; the reader wouldn’t be scared off by perfect depictions of food, yet more willing to have a go and make a mess! Involving aspects of Alice Kammerlander’s work in my own would bring about a sense of relaxed professionalism which I think would suit my project well; projecting veganism and vegan cooking as something easy and fun to do instead of a daunting and difficult commitment.
